Kira Doutt (b. 1992, MA) is a Los Angeles–based artist and educator whose work explores the relationship between the body and the environment through both personal and historical lenses. Her surreal, often haunting landscapes draw on myth and transformation to question how nature is experienced through embodiment or imagined as a stage upon which narratives unfold.
Kira received her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2019 and her BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2015. She has taught at institutions including Otis College of Art and Design and CalArts, and is the co-director of Spore Space, an artist-run gallery in Ojai, CA. Her work has been exhibited throughout Southern California, Boston, and internationally in Melbourne and Finland.
