David Joel Kitcher grew up in a small desert town in Eastern Washington located in close proximity to the Hanford Nuclear Site. His work explores themes of trauma, genetic mutation, neurodivergence and mental illness combined with personal metaphor and symbolism. Kitcher studied drawing and printmaking at Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA and has a degree in graphic design from Seattle Central Creative Academy. 

He had his debut solo show at Ampersand Gallery in Portland, Oregon in 2021.
