Carlín Díaz (b. 1991) is a Venezuelan artist based in Brussels, Belgium. Working primarily with painting and video art, Díaz delves into the fleeting interactions between living beings and their surroundings. His work features hypothetical, dreamlike scenes with indistinct atmospheres, inviting viewers to engage with each piece as a subjective encounter. By stripping away extraneous details, Díaz aims to reveal the essence of each element, allowing living beings to reveal themselves in their environments. After graduating from the Instituto de Diseño de Caracas with a degree in visual arts and graphic design, Díaz moved to Paris in 2012. There, he created animations and worked as an illustrator for newspapers and magazines such as The Washington Post and The New York Times. Over time, his interest in painting and other physical mediums grew, ultimately leading him to relocate to Brussels in 2019 and to pursue an MFA in Painting at La Cambre.
