Eiko Gröschl (*1992 in Graz, Austria), studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna in the class of Erwin Bohatsch. He currently lives and works in Vienna.
In his paintings Gröschl traces an indeterminate feeling that makes us pay attention to everyday situations, attempts to make visible and fix something vague, which affects us but at the same time eludes us. His painting allows the suspension of the parallel presence of contradictory qualities, even makes this possible. Painting creates the distance that is necessary to view something as a manufactured image, in order to be simultaneously touched, addressed, perhaps also irritated and frightened by something that comes to mind.
